REET 2025 Exam Time
This REET 2025 Exam was scheduled to take place on February 27 2025 It will be held in two shifts and cater at two different levels. Shift 1, which runs from 10:00 AM until 12:30 PM, is slated for Level 1.

REET Eligibility Criteria
REET is the eligibility for teaching test that consists of two tests, i.e. Paper 1, which is used for selection of the first level, i.e. classes I-V, and Paper 2 is for secondary levels, i.e. classes VI to VIII. In this article, we will discuss the REET eligibility criteria for the various levels independently.
Age Limits
The candidate is competent to apply with a minimum age of 21. However, there is an age limit relaxation for those in categories that are reserved.
Minimum Qualifications for Becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage)
- Senior Secondary, with a minimum of 50 per cent marks successfully passed or enrolled in the final year of the 2-year Diploma of Elementary School. OR
- Secondary (or its equivalent) with at the minimum of 45% marks and a passing grade or enrolled in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with 50 per cent marks and passing or enrolled in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at minimum 50% marks, and successfully passed or completing the last year of the 2two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
- Passing or graduating in the last year of the Two-year Diploma for Elementary School.
Minimum Qualifications for Becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage)
- Passing or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma for Elementary Education. OR
- Graduation or post-graduation, with 50 per cent marks or more and a passing or enrolled at least in Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR
- Graduation must be at least 50% marks and successfully passed or appearing in a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) and following guidelines of the NCTE (Recognition Standards and Methods). OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at minimum 50% marks and a passing or entering the fourth year of a four-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at minimum 50% marks and passing or entering the 4th year, which is the last year year of the B.A. /B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.
And
- Graduation or Graduation with 50 per cent marks or more and a passing or appearing grade in a one-year B.Ed. (Special Education).
Note:- Amendment by NCTE Notification No.F.No. NCTE-Reg/012/22/2019-US(Regulation)-HQ. Dated November 13, 2019, “At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and B.Ed.” the following condition is inserted-“Provided that the minimum percentage of marks for graduation will not be applicable to those who had already enrolled in this course Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or an equivalent course prior to July 29 2011.”
REET exam pattern for Level 1 and Level 2 exam
The REET Level-1 exam is designed for students who wish to be teachers at the elementary level. It comprises 150 questions with a mark given to each answer that is correct. There is zero negative marking. Candidates are given two hours and 30 minutes to complete the test, which tests their skills and knowledge in early preschool education. This easy format will give an objective evaluation of their abilities for the primary-level teaching position. The new feature that was that was added to Exam Pattern is that Candidates must choose from five answers for each question or receive a negative marking if the question is not answered.
REET Level-I Exam Pattern & Marks Distribution
The REET Level-1 exam consists of 150 questions, each of which is worth one mark, giving 150 marks with an exam time that is 2.5 hours. The test is broken down into five parts, which include Pedagogy and Child Development and Language I (compulsory) as well as II (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), and Mathematical and Environmental Studies, with each section comprising 30 questions with a value of 30 marks. This arrangement allows for a thorough examination of candidates’ skills and abilities to teach across the various subjects.

REET Level-II Exam Pattern & Marks Distribution
It is a REET Exam consisting of 150 questions that total 150 marks. The exam will last for a total of approximately 2.5 hours. The exam is broken down into sections, which include the areas of Child Development and Pedagogy Language I and II and Language II, each having 30 questions with 30 marks. Candidates must select between two choices that include Mathematics and Science and Social Studies & Social Science. Each option is comprised of 60 questions and contributes 60 points to the total score.

REET Cut-Off Marks
The REET 2025 exam is over, and it has been announced that the Supreme Court has also released an order to NCTE concerning the revised standards for passing REET 2025. In the REET Teaching Recruitment Exam, the weightage of marks scored during the REET exam is now raised. The mark weightage for the REET exam is just 70%, while 30% is to be used for the academic weightage of candidates. It is now converted to 90:10.

REET Selection Process

REET Certificate Validity
The validity of the REET 2025 certificate is valid for life. That is, those who pass the REET 2025 Exam are eligible to take part in various recruitment tests and procedures for the duration of their lives. The validity of the REET 2025 certificate will not run out. The validity of REET certificates was three years, but it was extended to a lifetime.
